Abstract

The development of social media and digital technology has brought significant changes to students' lives, including in character formation. This article aims to examine the positive and negative impacts of using social media and digital technology on student character. Through a literature study approach, various sources and current research are analyzed to illustrate how technology can be an innovative learning tool that encourages creativity, communication and social awareness. But on the other hand, excessive use can have negative impacts such as addiction, decreased direct communication skills, individualistic attitudes, and exposure to inappropriate content. Therefore, educators and parents need an active role in providing guidance and digital literacy education to instill strong and balanced character in the technological era.
