Abstract

Speech delays in children can affect their social and emotional development, so it is important to provide the right support to increase their self-confidence. This article aims to identify factors that influence the self-confidence of young children who are late in speaking, as well as providing several strategies that can be used to increase their self-confidence. The method used is a case study by collecting and analyzing existing sources at the Imam Muslim IT Kindergarten, Tanjungsari district. The results of the research show that the factors that influence the self-confidence of young children who are late in speaking include the family environment, school environment, peers and themselves. Some strategies that can be used to increase their self-confidence include providing opportunities to solve problems on their own, providing choices and decisions, encouraging them to try new things, teaching discipline and responsibility, and being a good example. It is hoped that this article will provide inspiration for other researchers interested in this topic.
