Abstract

The pre-kindergarten period is a crucial period in character formation, where appropriate stimulation is essential to support children's social, emotional, and moral development. This article examines the role of study groups as an effective platform for character development in early childhood, using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and direct observation at Rumah Belajar Garut. The study results indicate that study groups provide a consistent space for social interaction, meaningful learning experiences, and role models from educators in instilling moral values such as responsibility, empathy, cooperation, and independence. Based on Hurlock and Lickona's theory, character is formed through repeated social experiences and emotional engagement. These findings underscore the importance of community-based learning environments in shaping children's character naturally and holistically from an early age.
