Abstract

Bullying in the school environment is a complex phenomenon influenced by various factors, including students’ broken home family backgrounds. This study aims to analyze the role of character education in preventing bullying behavior in schools, particularly among students from non-harmonious families. The research used a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach, examining studies and recent literature from the past five years on character education, bullying, and family dynamics. The findings reveal that character education integrated into the curriculum, teaching, and school culture can instill values of empathy, tolerance, self-control, and social responsibility. These values significantly reduce students’ tendency to engage in bullying. The success of character education implementation is strongly supported by teachers’ exemplary conduct, inclusive school policies, and parental involvement in strengthening positive values at home. When applied consistently, character education proves effective in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive school climate for all students, including those from broken home families.
