Persepsi Masyarakat terhadap Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini: Studi Deskriptif di Desa Cimindi Kecamatan Cigugur

Abstract

Community perception is the whole process of human reasoning regarding a way of seeing and understanding or giving meaning to someone about an object that is around their environment through observation, knowledge and experience. This study aims to determine community perceptions of Early Childhood Education in Cimindi Village. The research method used in this case is qualitative research, where data obtained from interviews and field analysis in observation and documentation records are processed descriptively to describe the reality in the field. The results of the study show that most people in Cimindi Village, Cigugur Sub-district, have the perception that early childhood education is very important and early childhood education is the initial foundation of education. We can observe this from the number of children aged 3-5 years who have attended school in formal and non-formal institutions. There are many benefits that they feel by sending their children to PAUD institutions, including: training children's courage, increasing children's knowledge, shaping children's character, and optimal growth and development. One of the efforts made by the village government to optimize early childhood education in Cimindi Village is to continue socializing to the community about the importance of early childhood education in order to produce quality human resources
